Richard D. Norwood

Rick Norwood has over 35 years experience as a corporate finance executive with healthcare systems and academic medical centers.

He most recently served as Interim Finance Director for the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Faculty Practice from 2008-2012; 1,000 physicians with over $300 million cash collections. The faculty compensation plan he implemented at Miami resulted in improved physician work productivity of more than 10% in many departments.

At the University of Texas Medical Branch, Rick was Chief Financial Officer for Hospital and Clinics and Chief Financial Officer for the School of Nursing, School of Allied Health Sciences, Graduate School of Science and University Advancement and Electronic Health Network. He was also Interim Finance Director for the Faculty Group Practice as well as a Project Consultant for the School of Medicine, Dean’s Office, Faculty Group Practice and the Department of Internal Medicine.

Rick has also served as an independent consultant to health care providers and a national CPA firm and provided interim CFO services to a health plan, implementing cost reduction and revenue improvement strategies that resulted in millions of dollars of financial improvement.
He also has financial planning and budgeting experience with large health systems, having spent 6 years as Corporate Director of Managerial Reporting and Analysis at Trinity Health System (formerly Holy Cross Health System) and 6 years as a controller in a subsidiary hospital of Trinity.

Rick holds a BS in Accounting from Indiana University and an MBA from Butler University.
