Kenneth R. Hammann

Ken recently retired after 12 years as the Senior Associate Dean for Administration and Finance at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. His responsibilities included finance and budgeting, human resources, facilities management and general administrative oversight. In collaboration with his director of finance, he developed allocation methodologies for institutional funding provided by Campus and the funds derived from the Dean’s Tax on professional collections that have been in use since 2010. He also served as the liaison with the Hospital CFO for funds allocated to the School of Medicine for clinical services and programs. Major facilities projects include the total renovation of the gross anatomy laboratory and main auditorium and the construction of a $25.5M office building.

His career in academic medicine has spanned nearly 44 years, beginning at The Johns Hopkins Hospital where he served 15 years in positions ranging from supervision of clinical facilities to serving as part of a team that transitioned a major city hospital in Baltimore to Hopkins ownership. Other positions included six years as the administrator for the department of Surgery at Missouri and the administrator of the departments of medicine at both West Virginia University and the University of Illinois at Chicago. He holds a BS in Business from the University of Denver and an MBA in Health Care from Loyola University of Maryland.
